Kelly Clarkson was “devastated” as she canceled her Las Vegas residency opening night just before showtime.

The “Kelly Clarkson Show” host, 43, took to social media on Friday, July 4 to give fans an update on her vocal health.

“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” Clarkson in the statement. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening” at Caeser’s Palace.

The “Voice” coach said that “the prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”

USA TODAY reached out to reps for Clarkson for comment.

She concluded the statement by telling fans that “the show is truly incredible” and “the musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”

In February, Clarkson announced a return to the Las Vegas Strip this summer with a new 18-show residency. “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was set to begin Friday, July 4 and run through Nov. 15.

“I’m so excited to be back in Vegas!” Clarkson said in a statement. “We’re bringing the studio to the stage this time with ‘Studio Sessions!’ See y’all there!”

Where is Kelly Clarkson on her talk show? Inside her absence

The “Since U Been Gone” singer has also been gone this year, at times, from her popular daytime talk show. Clarkson’s unexplained absences on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” have been the source of tabloid fodder surrounding the show, now in its sixth season.

Earlier this spring, action star and actor Simu Liu helmed the show while the “Catch My Breath” hitmaker was out.

“Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best,” he said to the studio audience of the March 3 show. “I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie ‘Last Breath,'” adding, “I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge.”
