IHOP is putting its own decadent twist on the Dubai chocolate trend.

The pancake chain has cooked up two new limited-edition stacks inspired by the colorful bars that began flooding TikTok in 2024. The original treats, which come from Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, are filled with pistachios and knafeh, a Middle Eastern dessert made with phyllo pastry strands.

IHOP created two versions of the new pancakes, and one is a more lavish take.

The Luxe Dubai Chocolate Pancake, which the brand says is valued at over $100, features handmade Madagascar vanilla whipped cream, a whole Dubai Chocolate bar, edible 24K gold flakes and gold glitter on top of Dubai Chocolate-flavored buttermilk pancakes.

The Original Dubai Chocolate Pancakes include crunchy roasted kataifi (a shredded phyllo dough), pistachio cream and hazelnut spread layered between buttermilk pancakes and topped with chocolate curls and crushed pistachios.

PEOPLE got an early taste of each of the creations and they were every bit as rich as we expected. The Luxe was the ultimate indulgence for pistachio-and-choclate lovers and the silky whipped cream was the perfect topping.

In the Original, we loved how the crispy texture of the kataifi complemented the soft, fluffy pancakes, and how the dark chocolate shavings offset the sweetness of the hazelnut spread.

Both stacks will be available on Monday, Aug. 4, at noon local time in select restaurants in New York City, Los Angeles and Austin.

While IHOP says the Luxe is “the most expensive pancake the brand has ever served,” the first 25 guests in each of the three participating locations will get the chance to try it for free.

After those are served, guests can order the Original version for $13 while supplies last.

Chef Art Carl, IHOP’s vice president of culinary, said an IHOP restaurant team member came up with an earlier version of the recipe. Inspired, the team “took it up a notch in the test kitchen” and crafted the new items.

Dubai chocolate’s viral fame has also promoted menu additions from Shake Shack and Crumbl, as well as products sold at Trader Joe’s and Costco.

Participating locations where guests can try the Dubai Chocolate pancakes on Monday, Aug. 4 starting at 12 p.m. local time include New York City (235-237 E. 14th St.), Los Angeles (913 N San Fernando Blvd.) and Austin (707 E Cesar Chavez St.).
