Fortnite’s latest season is almost here, with Chapter 6 Season 2 set to launch on February 21. This season is going to be all about the world of chaotic heists in a lawless land, with a bunch of brand-new POIs that will make players rich beyond their wildest dreams, if they can survive the infiltration.
With it, several cool new weapons and gadgets are being added, but the main question on everyone’s lips is about when they can start playing. We’ll break down the expected start times of the new Fortnite season so you know exactly when you can jump into your first match.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Start Time
Based on previous Fortnite season transitions, the servers typically go down for the update on Februrary 21 at 4am ET, and shortly after the update file will automatically begin to download on your console/PC. Here’s what that means for different time zones around the world:
- 1am PT
- 3am CT
- 4am ET
- 6am BRT
- 9am GMT
- 10am CET
- 2:30pm IST
- 5pm CST
- 6pm JST
- 8pm AEDT
- 10pm NZDT
If you’re likely to be in bed when the update goes live, you can leave your device on and, as long as you have the right settings, the update will automatically start to download as soon as it’s available.
Once the update is downloaded, it typically takes between 4-6 hours for the servers to come back online so you can play, though on rare occasions these bigger seasonal updates can take longer. Still, it’s reasonable to expect that Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 will be online and ready to play by 9am ET.
If this is delayed for whatever reason, we’ll keep you updated, as well giving you a full rundown of all the new features in Chapter 6 Season 2 once it’s live, so watch this space.
