Molly Shannon revealed what it was really like to work with two of Hollywood’s biggest A-listers on “Saturday Night Live.”
The comedian, who starred on the live NBC skit show from 1995 to 2001, told People in an interview published Thursday that Jennifer Aniston was “very laid back” when she hosted the show.
She also described the “Friends” alum, 55, as “just easygoing and really fun.”
Shannon, 60, further recalled, “I remember being like, ‘Ooh, that’s so cool. Jennifer Aniston.’”
The “Superstar” actress also mentioned seeing the “big wedding ring” the TV star had on at the time.
Aniston hosted “SNL” for the first time in 1999 and then again in 2004, so it was likely that this encounter Shannon spoke about was when the former was married to Brad Pitt.
The couple were together from 2000 until their divorce was finalized in 2005.
Shannon concluded of Aniston, “She was just [an] easygoing professional, [she] had been in television for a long time.”
The “A Night at the Roxbury” actress also had a pleasant experience with Cameron Diaz, who has hosted “SNL” several times, including in 1998, 2002, 2005 and 2014.
“During the rehearsal, she would just eat salads, lots of greens,” Shannon recalled of Diaz, 52.
And I was like, ‘I want to be like Cameron Diaz and just eat salad.’ You know what I mean? Isn’t that funny?”
The “Masked” star has maintained a healthy lifestyle even since her “SNL” appearances.
In 2023, Diaz gave a tour of her immaculate kitchen, which featured a fridge filled only containers of salad and bottles from her Avaline wine line.
She said in the Instagram video at the time, “When it comes to meals in the summertime, I am always craving something that’s like, fresh and easy — and I love a great salad.”
