A California man woke up from surgery after allegedly stabbing himself and his wife — and immediately confessed to also killing his mother, according to cops.
Frank James McMillan, 63, allegedly visited Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, where his wife was being treated Saturday — and stabbed her at least once before using the knife on himself, leaving both in critical condition, according to police and the hospital.
“Following McMillan’s surgery, he spontaneously confessed to killing his biological mother” at her home before the hospital attack, Vallejo police said.
Officers forced their way into her home and “discovered McMillian’s biological mother deceased inside,” the department said.
The dead mom was not immediately named, pending family notification, and it was not immediately revealed how she was killed.
McMillan is facing charges of attempted murder for the alleged stabbing of his wife, as well as murder charges stemming from the death of his mother.
Both McMillan and his wife are expected to recover from their injuries.
Once he is medically cleared, McMillan will be taken to the Solano County Jail, police said.
Police did not detail the circumstances that led to the assault or a motive for the murder.
