As Queen Camilla continues to recover from a chest infection, she has been forced to revise her schedule after missing Remembrance Sunday engagements over the weekend.
However, palace aides have said there is no need for concern over Camilla’s poor health. According to aides, she is suffering from “a nasty bug” and has adjusted her schedule to lighten the load.
It is expected that Queen Camilla will return to a full schedule of engagements from next week.
Though Queen Camilla did not attend the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph on Sunday, she was well enough to attend the Booker Prize Reception at Clarence House in London on Tuesday, albeit briefly to meet finalists and participate in a group photograph.
Palace aides have said that Camilla has made modifications to her diary as she continues to get better after spending most of last week unwell with a chest infection.
It is hoped that on Wednesday she will attend an event to celebrate the Film and TV Charity with King Charles, however, she is not expected to stay for the entire event. Camilla won’t walk the red carpet at the London premiere of Gladiator II on Wednesday as planned, but the king will still attend, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
Queen Camilla’s absence was notable this weekend when she did not join King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh at the Cenotaph.
A statement at the time read: “Following doctors’ guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events. While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week.”
