Monster Hunter Wilds is almost here and that last day waiting for a game to become available can be excruciating. Watching the hours tick down until the game unlocks feels like it takes forever, so we’ve put together a full list of when the game is launching worldwide so you know when you can start playing. If you want to get your hands on it early though, there is a little trick you can perform on consoles that we’ll explain.
If you want to know what the game has in store, then read our Monster Hunter Wilds review to get our thoughts on the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds Launch Time
On PC, the game will unlock on Friday, February 28 at 12am ET. Check out our guide on the Monster Hunter Wilds PC specs to make sure your machine is up to scratch. Here’s what the launch time means for your time zone:
- 9pm PT (February 27)
- 11pm CT (February 27)
- 1am ET
- 2am BRT
- 5am GMT
- 6am CET
- 8am AST
- 10:30am IST
- 1pm CST
- 2pm JST
- 4pm AEDT
- 6pm NZDT
On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, things are different as it will instead be released at midnight your local time, which means that you can pull off the New Zealand trick.
How to Use the New Zealand Trick
As the console’s launch time goes by local time, if you can convince your console that you’re in New Zealand, your game will unlock on February 27 at 7am ET instead.
On Xbox, to do this head into your console’s settings and select “Language & Location”, then under the “Location” setting, set yourself to New Zealand. You’ll be prompted to restart your console, do so and your region will have changed.
On PS5, you’ll need to set up a new PlayStation account with a different email address from your main account. Once the account is set up, pre-order the game from the New Zealand store and it will unlock on time – if you’ve already pre-ordered the game with an account from a different region, then you’re out of luck. However, you will still get all of the great Monster Hunter Wilds pre-order bonuses.
