Ashley Park, known for her role in Emily in Paris, has captivated audiences with her portrayal of Mindy Chen in the show, the bubbly and stylish best friend of Lily Collins’ iconic character.
But Park’s talents extend far beyond the screen, as evidenced by her recent collaboration with Bath & Body Works on a limited-edition fragrance collection inspired by the hit Netflix series. Park, 33, shared her excitement with Newsweek regarding her partnership with the brand, a longtime favorite of hers.
“Bath & Body Works does an amazing job at creating iconic, captivating scents,” she enthused, “but this collection is obviously special to me since it brings our show and characters to life through the power of fragrance.”
The collection, which features scents like Lavender Luxe, Macaron Cloud, and Champagne in Paris, evokes the sights and smells of the city of lights. Park’s personal favorite, Champagne in Paris, is a “bright, fresh scent” that perfectly captures the essence of the show.
Park’s own personal style, which she describes as “comfortable, versatile, fresh,” is reflected in the collection’s packaging and overall aesthetic as well. And like her character Mindy, Park is never without a few key accessories –– earcuffs and, of course, a trusty lip balm.
Reflecting on her time filming Emily in Paris, the actress shared a heartwarming anecdote about Collins, 35, (who stars as Emily Cooper), who extended a welcoming hand during Park’s first trip to Paris. “It was my first time in Paris when I first went to go film,” she recalled. “I was alone there and I knew nobody and the table read was our first day of work. I was like, ‘What’s even happening? I have no idea what’s going on.’ And Lily swooped in as the most incredible sister and friend — exactly what Mindy does for Emily in the first season.”
As for her favorite scene to film in the city of love, Park fondly remembers the bench scenes at Jardin Du Palais Royale, where Mindy and Emily first met and where Mindy sings to Emily for the first time. “Those scenes will always have a special place in my heart,” she admitted. She also spoke about the similarities and differences between herself and her on-screen persona. “I think we both lead with humor and an open heart, are nonjudgmental, and value friendships,” she shared. “But Mindy is less of a people pleaser — I could still learn that from her!”
