Khloé Kardashian was slammed for calling Los Angeles Major Karen Bass a “joke” after the latter allegedly cut the city fire department’s budget months before the disastrous wildfires.
Several critics took to X to call out the “Kardashians” star’s quick judgment against Bass, though she’s been seemingly slow to address other controversial politicians and public figures.
“It’s interesting how Khloe Elon Musk Kardashian has been very quick to call Mayor Karen Bass ‘A JOKE’ but had no smoke for [Donald] Trump, JD Vance or Elon [Musk] during this past [presidential] election,” one person wrote.
“It’s something about the way Khloe Kardashian has been on IG reposting nothing but right-wing MAGA influencers’ content denigrating Mayor Bass in light of these devastating fires that don’t sit right with me.
“I never once saw her call out former Mayor [Eric] Garcetti similarly…,” another critic added, referring to the retired mayor, who was in office in LA from 2013 to 2022.
“I’m tired of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass getting demolished out here,” a commentator chimed in. “Let’s get something clear. If you are from LA, you know Los Angeles is a specific area. Khloe K needs to talk to HER own Mayor Alicia Weintraub. Yeah the Mayor of Calabasas.”
“Khloe got some nerve calling the mayor of LA a joke when she literally has Tristan Thompson as a [baby dadd]. girl,” a fourth wrote, referring to the TV personality’s on-again, off-again romance with the father of her two children: True, 6, and Tatum, 2.
Kardashian, 40, also received some support from fans, with one writing, “What Khloé Kardashian said about the mayor is so right.
“I don’t know why y’all are hitting on. The woman [and] the Kardashians out of touch, yes, however, we need to stick together and have Bass and other California officials to resign because our city is mostly gone.”
Another praised the Good American co-founder for “saying the truth” about Bass, 71.
Reps for Khloé weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Meanwhile, several critics wrongly called out Kardashian for allegedly going over her water usage by 101,000 gallons in June 2022 amid the ongoing state drought.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashian” star’s sister Kourtney Kardashian went over her water usage by 101,000 gallons, while her other sister Kim Kardashian exceeded 232,000 gallons.
Khloé was not named in the article.
On Friday, she took to Instagram to re-share a clip of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley calling out Bass’ alleged budget cuts for the department ahead of the fires.
During the interview with Fox11, Crowley alleged she asked Bass for more money to repair fire engines and hydrants around the city, but ultimately, no aid was received.
“I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!” Khloé captioned the video.
“Thank you for being honest,” she continued. “Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”
Khloé and her family — Kim, Kourtney, Kris Jenner, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — evacuated their homes after receiving a warning about the nearby Kenneth Fire northeast of Calabasas, Calif.
The evacuation order has since been lifted, though it’s unclear if the A-list clan has returned to their mansions.
Last week, the Palisades and Eaton fire broke out and has since burned down the homes of Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Billy Crystal and Janice Crystal, Mandy Moore and Miles Teller and Keleigh Teller.
