This week, Zendaya for the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami re-edition collection dominated headlines, as LV’s house ambassador repped the anticipated reunion from LV and Murakami across a photoshoot and Murakami-featuring video.
The collection itself also saw its official reveal this week and it’s just as enticing as its campaign – spanning over 200 (!!) dual-minded leather goods and accessories.
Reunions proved to be numerous this week, with Carhartt WIP reconnecting with Palace for the UK-based imprint’s final collab of the year and BAPE and CLOT re-teaming for a captivating and colorful joint release.
Major inline deliveries came from visvim – in an effortless “Dissertation on Quality We Choose” SS25 collection – as well as another Gosha Rubchinskiy-led YZY drop.
Palace and Carhartt WIP Reunited for Their Final Collab of the Year
Kicking off the week, Palace teamed up with Carhartt WIP to present its final collaborative capsule of the year. The 13-piece selection sharpens a handful of dual-minded Cordura® fabric-crafted garments, including a Hooded Ranger Jacket and signature OG Chore Coat, which comes finished off with a co-branded logo on the back.
Palace also goes to work on some of Carhartt WIP’s most iconic silhouettes, including the new Car-Lux Half Zip Sweatshirt as well as a lineup of embroidered hooded jersey sweatshirts and graphic tees imbued with archival Palace imagery.
visvim Presented a “Dissertation on Quality We Choose” for SS25
Tokyo-based visvim lifted the curtain on its Spring/Summer 2025 collection entitled “Dissertation on Quality We Choose.”
The rustic range of clean cut-and-sew garments is showcased in an outdoor cookbook shot by Keisuke Fukamizu. Remaining minimalistic in design, jacketing is a high point, spanning down jackets and fishtail parkas, a jacquard liner, a coaches jacket and a silk souvenir jacket.
YZY Unveiled A New Gosha Rubchinskiy-Helmed Collection
YZY has dropped its new collection under the lead of Gosha Rubchinskiy.
The label’s head of design returns with a follow-up to March’s drop with a nine-piece collection of basics. Landing in a minimalistic white, grey and black color scheme, the drop spans t-shirts, cropped hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, and socks – and, once again, all retails at $20 USD.
BAPE x CLOT Delivered a 20th Anniversary Capsule
Edison Chen’s CLOT has teamed up with BAPE once again on a collaborative capsule rooted in Japanese craftsmanship. An envisioning of traditional Chinese motifs reimagined through a modern design lens, the delivery reimagines the classic BAPE shark design with CLOT’s bold dragon motif in both green and red colorways.
The new camo is printed across outerwear, tops and bottoms and even footwear, the latter surfacing in the form of a new SHARK STA sneaker.
Elsewhere, the SHARK FULL ZIP HOODIE reimagines BAPE’s emblematic design by transforming the “SHARK FACE” into a “DRAGON FACE.”
Zendaya Leads Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Re-Edition Campaign – and the Collection Spans Over 200 Pieces
Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami have officially unveiled their re-edition collection – and who better to lead the campaign than LV’s house ambassador Zendaya?
Zendaya stars in both a shoot – where she dons both apparel and accessories pieces expected to be found in the collection – as well as a video alongside Murakami himself.
As for the collection, the 20th-anniversary reunion consists of over 200 pieces crafted by the duo. With a kaleidoscopic reimagining of the iconic LV monogram (spearheaded by at-the-time CD Marc Jacobs) at the core, the vibrant delivery brings Murakami’s designs to life across a lineup of leather goods and accessories including the City Bags, silk squares and scarves, sunglasses, fashion jewelry, shoes and perfumes.
Set to launch in two installments, the first drop sees the Monogram Multicolore on the City Bags with its classic white background – while the same motif is imbued on the black backgrounds for bags for the second drop. The Louis Vuitton x Murakami will be available for order starting on January 1, 2025. The second launch will be in March 2025, focusing on Murakami’s Cherry Blossom pattern.
