Keanu Reeves would love to make a fifth “John Wick” film, but isn’t sure his knees are up for the challenge.
Reeves made an appearance on “CBS Mornings” earlier this month, where he briefly touched on the potential return of popular character, admitting that while his “heart” is open to it, his body may be past its prime.
“You can never say never — but my knees right now are saying, ‘You can’t do another “John Wick,”‘” he joked of the high intensity action flicks.
“So my heart [wants to], I don’t know if my knees can do it,” Reeves continued.
While a new movie focusing on the famous fictional assassin may be out of the cards, Reeves is set to make a cameo reprising the role in the upcoming spinoff, “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the actor also promoted his latest work, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” in which he voices the film’s villain “Shadow.”
In March 2023, Reeves raved about the franchises’ success as he celebrated the premiere of “John Wick 4” on the red carpet.
“It’s amazing,” he told Page Six at the time. “it’s incredible, it’s very special.”
When asked what keeps him coming back for more of the action-filled flicks even with the risk of potential injuries, the “Matrix” star admitted it’s his “love” for them that makes him return.
“I love action, I love movie action, I especially love ‘John Wick’ action, so whatever it takes,” he continued. Though, he also admitted to have accrued “lots of bruises” in the filming process.
Reeves has been with the “John Wick” franchise since its inception in 2014, portraying the titular character.
The first film tells the origin story of the hitman who sets out on a mission to get revenge on Russian mobsters responsible for the death of his dog.
