Britney Spears was certainly “Lucky” this Christmas!
The pop star revealed that she reunited with her youngest son, Jayden James Federline, on Christmas Day after not seeing him for two years.
“Best Christmas of my life !!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years !!!” she captioned an Instagram post on the holiday. “Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy so in love and blessed !!! I’m speechless thank you Jesus !!!”
The Grammy-winner posted a video of the two enjoying the holiday together. After 18-year-old Federline says “hello” in the first clip, Spears says, “This is my baby,” and plants a kiss on his cheek.
In the second snippet, the mother and son wish viewers a merry Christmas before the camera pans to a roaring fireplace. In the third, Federline says “hello” yet again as Spears points out, “It’s me and Jayden!”
The reunion comes two years after Federline defended his grandparents amid Spears’ bitter court battle over her conservatorship, which had been run by her father, Jamie Spears.
In an interview with filmmaker Daphne Barak, Federline said his grandparents were “not bad people.”
“They know what we are going through now,” he said. “They want our future to be what we want it to be. They just want to watch over us.”
In a since deleted post, Spears responded to her son’s comments on Instagram, according to USA TODAY.
“If you can honestly sit back and say with your sensible brilliant mind what memaw and paw paw did to me was fine and call them not bad people … then yes I have failed as a mother and hopefully that’s a chat for you and your father to sit face to face and try to learn WHAT’S GOOD,” she wrote.
Spears shares both her sons, Jayden and 19-year-old Sean Preston Federline, with her ex-husband, dancer Kevin Federline. The two married in 2004 and were divorced almost three years later in 2007.
In 2021, Spears made headlines when her 13-year conservatorship, legally stripping the singer of the ability to make her own career and financial decisions, was terminated. Last year, she reflected on the “traumatizing” conservatorship and other life experiences with the release of her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
