NBC has unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming crime procedural, The Hunting Party.
In the show, an elite team of investigators faces their toughest challenge yet when a massive security breach at a secretive high-security prison allows some of the world’s most infamous convicts to escape. Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest, Quantum Leap) stars as Rebecca Henderson, a former FBI agent tasked with leading the mission to recapture the fugitives.
Set to a chilling rendition of Blondie’s “One Way Or Another,” the teaser introduces “The Pit,” an underground, hexagonal prison described in a voiceover as “a classified facility housing the most violent and dangerous criminals the world has ever known.”
After a mysterious explosion rocks the prison, Rebecca—nicknamed “Bex”—must not only hunt down the escapees but also uncover the truth behind the catastrophic event. The 30-second teaser packs in high-stakes action, including the explosion itself, high-speed car chases, intense fight scenes, and a glimpse of a dead body, all underscoring the chaos Bex and her team must confront.
Joining Roxburgh in The Hunting Party are Nick Wechsler (Revenge, Chicago PD) as Oliver Odell, Patrick Sabongui (Homeland, The Flash) as Ryan Hassani, Josh McKenzie (La Brea) as Shane Florence, and Sara Garcia (Ride, The Flash) as Jennifer Morales. Kyra Leroux (Riverdale) also appears in a recurring role.
The show’s co-showrunners, JJ Bailey (creator) and Jake Coburn, serve as writers and executive producers, with Thor Freudenthal directing the pilot and also executive producing. Keto Shimizu is on board as both a writer and executive producer. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series.
The Hunting Party debuts Monday, Feb. 3, at 10/9c on NBC, following the season premiere of The Voice.
